Once again in the SVG Motorsport prepared DTM BMW M3 Andrew competed in both the Toyo Tires Racing Saloons and the Classic Touring Car Club Pre-93 Championship, although this year the team decided to concentrate on the latter.

With the level of competition ever increasing, the team began to find the areas requiring development on the car and both clutch and brake problems prevented some good results.

Andrew experienced a 'first' at Brands Hatch – unfortunately not of the top step of the podium variety. After qualifying on the outside of the front row Andrew had the scary experience of being left on the line (due to the aforementioned clutch problems) with a capacity grid of 36 cars all narrowly managing to miss him. A spirited drive from the very back of the field saw him up to 14th overall by the end. In August there was another equally scary moment when, battling for 2nd place, the M3 had total brake failure at one of the fastest points on the circuit; fortunately there was enough run off so no damage was done.

However, sandwiched between these dramas were some good results including a win at the dauntingly fast Thruxton circuit in June. This was especially satisfying as it came at the last corner on the last lap. This was followed up on the same day with a very close 2nd place finish. Combined with some other solid results, despite the mechanical troubles, Andrew and the SVG Motorsport team still finished the season 2nd in class in the Pre-93 Championship and class winners in the Classic Touring Car Club Classic Thunder Championship.
